"The damaged port-side fuselage of Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mark V, P5005 'DY-N', of No. 102 Squadron RAF, after returning from a bombing raid to the Ruhr on the night of 12/13 November 1940. While trying to locate Cologne marshalling yards, the aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire, detonating a flare which, in turn, blew open a 15-foot section of the fuselage. Despite this damage, the pilot, Flying Officer G L Cheshire, managed to fly the aircraft and crew safely back to base at Linton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire. for which he was awarded the DSO."
"Consolidated Coronado GR Mark I (modified), JX496, at Saunders Roe Aircraft Ltd, Beaumaris, Anglesey. The aircraft was tested at the Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, and subsequently served as a long-range transport with BOAC and No. 231 Squadron RAF. The background of the photograph has been deleted by the censor."

A pre-war shot of an early Wellington and Spitfire. Serials and/or codes seem absent on both of them. I'd suspect that this photo was taken in early 1939, because the Spitfire has the tiny 15-inch fuselage roundel that was only used for a short period, and the Wellington carries the Type A1 upper wing roundels that were replaced by Type B ones on April 27, 1939.
An interesting photo of an ASV Vickers Wellington (probably either a Mk.VIII or Mk.XIII). It has been involved in a collision, and the photo bears the writing "British a/c ran into", indicating that the other aircraft was not British. Other than that, I have no idea, although I have a hunch it shows one of the ASV Wellingtons in North Africa.
A Vickers Wellington Mk.IC, X8772, sent to the USA for testing in August 1942. Why a Wellington Mk.IC would be sent at that late date I have no idea, for the type had been replaced by later versions of the Wellington in RAF service. It was scrapped by 1944. Source
"A QF 6-pounder 7-cwt anti-tank gun on its carriage in front of a De Havilland Mosquito Mark XVIII 'Tstetse' of No. 248 Squadron RAF Special Detachment, which mounts a similar weapon, minus the carriage and fitted with automatic loader, in its nose, (note the protruding barrel). This version was also known as the 'Molins gun' after its manufacturer. Location of the photograph is Portreath, Cornwall."
